Well all have heard the world “cancer” many times, however very few people understand the disease and how it develops.Cancer can affect just about every organ in the human body regardless of ages. According to the American Cancer Society,7.6 million people died from cancer in the world during 2007. The organ in our body are made up of cells. Cells divide and multiply, as the body needs them. Cancer developed when cells multiplying abnormally, which the body doesn’t need them and resulting in tumor.

Below is some causes of cancer for reference:
Causes of Cancer

Causes of cancer can be a series of mutations. Nearly all cancers are caused by abnormalities in the genetic material of the transformed cells. These abnomalities may be due to the effects of carcinogens, such of tobacco smoke, radiation, chemicals , or infectious agents. There are about 200 different types of cancer affecting all the different body tissues.
Age
most types of cancer become more common as we get older. This is because the changes that cause a cell to become cancerous in the first place take a long time to develop. The changes can be due to accident or carcinogens when the cell is dividing. Or they can happen because carcinogens have damaged the cells and the damage is then passed on to future’daughter’ cells when that cell dividens.

Immune System
Nowadays, humans are exposed to more toxic chemicals in their daily environment. In any situation where there is excessive demand upon the human body, the immune system will perform at its maximun, but when that demand is overwhelmed, the immune system begins to falter. Cancer cells can escape immune system surveillance and flourish.

Diet
Food is an important factor in determining cancer incidence. Total calories intake appears to have a strong positive influence on cancer incidence.Food typical of advanced nations, including fat-rich food is associated with increases in breast, colon and prostate cancers. Sometimes foods or food additives are blamed as a culprit of causing cancer and described as ‘carcinogenic’

Viruses
Viruses can help to cause some cancers due to the genetic changes in cells that make them more likely to become cancerous. These cancers and viruses are linked: cervical cancer and the genital want virus,HPV,primary liver cancer and the Hepatitis B virus, T-cell leukaemia in adults and Human T-cell leukaemia virus. However, many people can be infected with a cancer causing virus and never get cancer. The virus only causes cancer in certain situations.
