Coloured Contact Lenses And Celebrities

Celebrities always seem to wear whatever is most popular at the time. They are the trend setters of our world, so it only makes sense that if coloured contact lenses are popular, there would be some celebrities that had them on.

While many of Hollywood’s most elite stars do walk around all natural, there are some that use coloured contacts to portray a certain look they feel best represents them in society. Here we will explore a few of these celebrities, but we will also take a look at these contacts as a whole to determine what benefit (if any) they may have for you.

Anthony Hopkins is one star that a lot of people might be surprised by. While his shockingly deep brown eyes may fit the role of Hannibal Lecture perfectly, beneath them actually lie a set of light blue irises that none of us got to see. By simply putting on a pair of brown contact lenses, Hopkins was able to transform himself entirely for the role he was going to play. That’s a good thing though, since most people wouldn’t be scared by a villain with gorgeous eyes to begin with.

Britney Spears has been making men swoon for years with her sultry blue eyes, but it turns out those are fake too. There are tons of photos out there of her with her naturally brown eyes, but there was a large period of time where she thought blue would be more fitting. That matched the blond haired persona she was portraying at the time. Since then, however, Britney has seemingly gone back to nature. Motherhood and slowed down fame may have attributed to this, or perhaps Britney found the beauty her eyes had to begin with. Nevertheless, she is an example of someone in Hollywood who felt the need to wear coloured contact lenses.

Paris Hilton is another brown to blue convert, sporting a set of light blue coloured contact lenses that she feels makes her look better.

Most celebrities and people alike get these contacts for the same reason. It’s all a matter of cosmetics, finding the eye colour they feel best matches their body and look as a whole. The only problem is when people pick the wrong shade for themselves. Hazel works well with just about anyone, but blue contacts tend to be the ones people go towards. If you are thinking about wearing coloured contacts, talk to your optometrist or eye wear specialist about what shades will work best for you.
