You can’t see these things like they were mathematics, it’s not like 1+1=2… This advertising is warning the parents because if they smoke in front of their children they will see it like a normal and not so unhealthy activity and they will be willing to smoke when they are teenagers.
Okay yes I agree that the resultmay tur out like that, so I shouldn’t have called this “bulls***”… but often this isn’t the case and the problem with this advert is that it portrays it as if it is a strong possiblity.
From observation, I know my sister and my parents’ frieds (I’m 13) who have smoked and had children, that many of their children have actually gone against smoking rather than for it, especially from what they are taught bout it at school and what their senses (smell) tells them
Its nice they are so against smoking…Im 18 and in my high school a lot of people used to smoke because it was seen as a cool thing hahaha its kind of pathetic
Lol yeah but back in those days people did, nowadays people just do it for the hell of it. Our school toilets always stink of it and people just stand outside “on watch” of the teachers.
I hate the smell of cigarettes and love the smell of weed, but I wouldn’t do either (much, I don’t think!)
totally agree!!! I wish they’d ban things like this… there just cheap stupid sobby adverts what tugs the extremely delicate heart-strings of the 21st century nanny state generation and fuels this hitler-ish nazism against something that isn’t a real big issue anymore! i was raised ina smokey enviroment, admittidly i do smoke but my brother and sister don’t? It never effected me
I have to say that as an amateur director I realy like the concept and the direction of this advert however!
But yeah this is sucks, I really liked the hook ones and the clogged artery ones I have to say; I thought that graphically those were brilliant. People love moaning tho… I thought they were brilliant!
I agree, preventing people smoking is great, at the end of the day it is harmful, but when you go for your cigarettes, see the pictures and messages, turn on your tv, see these adverts, listen to the radio, hear the adverts, it really starts to get on your nerves, but i agree with you on those adverts with the hook and the ateries, they were shocking!! i wish they’d tone it down abit though, offensive really
I didn’t think so, I thought it worked pretty damn shockingly, not only to current smokers but children who’d look at it and think “errr… I don’t wnat my arteries to look like that” or “err, that hook is grimy”… meets its objective and I think is quite kl.
But that seems to be where we disgree
This ad was all over the news saying that it had scared kids badly. I don’t think it’s good, especially with the Jungle Book in the Background I think it insults people.
the nhs talk more about stop smoking yet are they making it easy for people to actually give up or just giving more excuses to say “I tried but failed”
