So why subject yourself to all the risks that smoking involves. Did you know that 87 percent of lung cancers are caused by smoking? And if you thought that lung cancer is the only thing to fear then think again because smoking is also responsible for heart and blood vessel disease, stroke and cataracts as well as numerous types of deadly cancer. The addictiveness of tobacco is caused by nicotine, a powerful narcotic, as addictive as heroin and cocaine. But the health benefits of putting cigarettes away for good are far greater than the problems you will face trying to quit. Just think about it. You will increase your life span. You will look and feel younger and healthier, you will smell better, and everyone around you will perceive you as a more responsible person. There are also financial benefits to quitting smoking. Think about all the things you cold buy with the money that you are literally burning right now.</p>
<p>So if you’ve decided to quit let me give you some tips on how to make it easier. First of all try to be as relaxed as you can on quitting day. Try to stay away from smokers and places where you used to associate smoking with fun. Try to be more active – jog, swim or go to the gym. And a final piece of advice: constantly remind yourself of the benefits that will follow quitting smoking.</p>

<p>If you have been a regular smoker for a number of years you&#8217;re going to need some help to stop smoking because you have become addicted to nicotine. So where do you go for help?</p>
<p>Why not start at home and ask your partner for support and advice. Indeed, if you are both smokers it makes sense to give up the habit together and that way be mutually supportive. It&#8217;s comforting that you&#8217;re not alone in your struggle, but that someone else is going through the same as you. You can share the problem and think of ways of beating it.</p>
<p>An idea is to take up a pursuit that you both enjoy that will take you out of your normal home environment as much as possible. This reduces the opportunities and the need to smoke, especially if you do some sort of exercise like swimming, golf, or cycling. It is difficult to ride a bike and smoke at the same time! Also the fresh air is invigorating and exercise releases feel-good brain chemicals which make it less necessary to seek the chemical changes caused by smoking.</p>
<p>Beyond your partner you should look to your family for support also. They should be tolerant if your mood becomes somewhat irritable in the weeks immediately after stopping smoking. This is likely to happen to some more than others but is a well known feature of withdrawal. Some people can feel more anxious and worry more during this period as they no longer have the emotional crutch of a cigarette and they need sympathetic understanding. Some people will tend to put on weight after giving up smoking and this is another area they might need help with.</p>
<p>Your doctor also should be consulted when giving up smoking as he can help considerably both in terms of advice and by prescribing medication to help alleviate withdrawal symptoms allowing you to gradually reduce your dependence on nicotine. Make no mistake, nicotine is a very addictive drug and you may well need help in overcoming this.</p>
<p>Your doctor might suggest you try acupuncture or hypnotherapy if he thinks it is suitable. These alternative treatments do not have a great deal of scientific evidence to back them up, but, there is no doubt that they can help a lot of people who want to quit smoking without having to take more drugs.</p>
<p>Help and counselling is also available from many local and national organisations both privately and through the NHS. You can get details of these online or from your GP&#8217;s surgery. Talking through your problem with somebody who has seen it all before can be very reassuring and helpful in keeping you motivated.</p>

You can help yourself by re-asserting your aim and your determination to succeed. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>If you really want to stop smoking, all you need to do is find a substitute to it. I know of folks who picked up caffeine instead, or nicotine gum as their own unique stop smoking program. These measures have been known to help rather well for a lot of Americans because they now have something else to occupy their minds and time with. It can help you too.</p>
<p>Hypnotism: I don&#8217;t know how it does it or how it works, but I have heard that you can be helped to stop some very nasty habits using hypnotism. So, if it can work for weight loss, why shouldn&#8217;t it be able to work for smoking? I&#8217;d try it at least to see how it will work, or not; after all, there&#8217;s no side effect.</p>
<p>I don&#8217;t think a doctor is the best person to help you with stopping smoking, seeing as so many of them know the hazards but they smoke also. I think the best way to quit is to find a person who has succeeded at it before. Their own stories and stop smoking program might inspire you.</p>
<p>There is no doubt that nicotine is extremely addictive. It&#8217;s not surprising either that there are a ton of social and non-profit movements against its use. So if your doctor tells you to stop and break your habit once and for all, it&#8217;s for the best that you heed his or her advice.</p>
<p>With yellow stains on the fingers and teeth, and having been trying for virtual ages to quit, you could still be having trouble. For added incentive, join a therapy group. Share your experiences and listen to them share theirs. And then exchange resolves, ask for their stop smoking program and get on with your life. This method has helped lots of chronic smokers to break free from the chains of smoking. It can work for you too if you but try it.</p>
<p>When I was trying to stop smoking, I tried the ice water trick, but it didn&#8217;t work. I even spoke with a shrink, and for a few weeks I thought I was free, but I was back to the smoking habit as soon as I had a rough time at work. But when my dad died, I don&#8217;t know what it was but I could not bring myself to continue smoking, especially when I knew he didn&#8217;t like my smoking habit. That really became a stop smoking program for me.</p>
<p>You cannot give up on an idea for quitting on smoking before you try it out. Even if the stop smoking program looks like it might not work for you, the least you can do is to confirm that suspicion to be true by trying. If nothing else, you will know one less way by which you may quit smoking. The more ways you try, the more likely you will find that one way that will work 100% to help you quit smoking.</p>
<p>Stopping from smoking can take as many years as you don&#8217;t want to consider, but you can&#8217;t let that faze you out from trying. Think only about the many more years of your life during which you may live healthy from the effects of the nicotine and other poisons introduced to your system by the narcotic if you stop it. That should be part of your stop smoking program mindset and it will boost you forward enough.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>One thing many people want to know before quitting smoking is how long the effects of nicotine will take to stop. This isn&#8217;t exactly a simple answer, because while nicotine leaves the body quickly, the mental effects of being a long time smoker take time to go away.</p>
<p>Nicotine itself has a half life of twenty to thirty minutes in the body.  That means that all but the last traces of the drug will be gone within two to three days. Thing is, nicotine isn&#8217;t the major reason why you smoke.</p>
<p>So, what really makes cigarettes and tobacco so addictive? Your mental attachment to it. Your addiction is largely based on a learned association between various events during your day, or triggers. For example, a common trigger for many people is leaving work. It doesn&#8217;t matter how many (or few) cigarettes you&#8217;ve had that day, leaving work almost every smoker lights up.</p>
<p>This is because you&#8217;re so used to smoking when you leave. Over the years, it&#8217;s become a learned response to leaving work, to the point where if you don&#8217;t follow it, you feel weird. That feeling gets written up as nicotine withdrawal, which is why so many people say that nicotine withdrawal is awful.</p>
<p>In short, nicotine withdrawal only takes a few days, but the mental withdrawal from smoking is what people say is rough. Tackle that, and quitting smoking is easy. That&#8217;s why so many of the replacement therapy programs have trouble working: they treat the nicotine addiction, but don&#8217;t do anything about the fact that nicotine addiction isn&#8217;t what causes problems.</p>

If you are a smoker, you know all too well the drawbacks: bad smell, ash, potentially cancer causing substances, lung wreck substances, stained teeth, awfull breath, no-smoking sections, social arguments, and so on..</p>
<p>The E Cigarette however, puts an end to most if not all of these problems. But what precisely is an E Cigarette? So, with the sophisticated devices available today, you get a device, that looks, feels and smells like the actual thing, on the other hand, there are no smoking restrictions for E Cigarettes. Why is that? Well they don&#8217;t give off smoke. What is being released is usually 99% Vaporized Water. The other constituents vary a by manufacturer, but mostly they hold Flavor, Nicotine and a smoke-like delivering ingredient, such as Propylene Glycol, which is also a food additive.</p>
<p>The E Cigarette works by dissipating the substances with a atomizer, which is powered by a rechargeable battery. Most models are made of 3 parts: the battery, the atomizer and the cartridge with the Nicotine inside, but some more refined, easy-to-use ones have the atomizer built in to the cartridge.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s not demonstrated that these gadgets are 100% safe, but it is very unlikely that they are more harmful to a persons health than a regular cigarette.
