How Ear Correction Can Enhance Physical Features?
If there is one thing that people tend to notice a lot when they first look at any person, its their large ears. Large ears are a real problem because they make a person to look very different from others. In such a situation, you would have to correct such a problem through some surgical process or ear correction procedure.
Ear correction or otoplasty is the procedure adopted to correct ears that stick out. If ears are sticking out for more than two centimeters from the back of the head, this is a problem that has to be rectified through surgery. As part of the surgical process a cut is made at the back of the ear where the ear gold joins the ear. The area that is protruding is cut off. Excess skin, is cut off as is the cartilage and the size of the ears is reshaped and made symmetrical. The ear cartilage is placed in a new position and anchored through stitches.
The usual is a small surgical procedure and a person wanting to opt for this form of surgery can do so at any age. Doing it at a younger age gives the benefit of being able to reshape the ears more easily as the ears at this age are pliable. After surgery there will be some discomfort as the healing process take place. The patient may be required to wear head bands so that the ears are held in place.
Ear correction or otoplasty offers several benefits. The obvious benefit is that it gives a person’s ears a more natural appearance and hence they feel better and confidence levels rise. In any situation have protruding ears can be very awkward and this corrective surgery makes the person look more like they should. Since the process takes place in two hours, there are no complicated processes involved. The prescribed medication should be followed to reduce discomfort after surgery.
There are hardly any side effects. There is the possibility of ear infection though it is pretty rare. Scars can occur and in this situation they may have to be analyzed for further treatment. There is also the chance of the ear cartilage changing its shape and in such a situation a second operation may be required. You will find ear correction to be quite effective in the results that it brings to a person’s appearance. It is also better to have it done at an early age as the ear is more flexible for reshaping than in later years.
