Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon in Austin – William H. Gorman

If you are like most people, at one time or another you have secretly wished for a change in your appearance. Perhaps it was for one part to be reduced or for another to be enhanced.
Never before has a person had as much influence on how they look and how fast they age.
Whether you are considering cosmetic surgery to enhance your appearance or reconstructive surgery to correct defects or restore function, improving your looks most often results in an improved outlook.
Dr. Gorman performs a large variety of reconstructive and cosmetic procedures in and around the Austin area, including liposuction, face lift, abdominoplasty, tummy tuck, breast lift, breast augmentation and breast reduction.

Dr. William H. Gorman is a Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon who has practiced medicine in Austin for more than twenty years.

After graduating with two degrees from the University of Texas at Austin, he attended Texas Tech University School of Medicine, and graduated with an M.D. degree in 1975. Dr. Gorman did his internship and his general surgery residency at the University of Texas Medical Center in San Antonio, and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
He later completed his residency in Plastic and Reconstructive surgery at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, Texas. He returned to Austin with his family in 1983 and has since been practicing his specialty of Plastic Surgery.

Dr. Gorman is a clinical researcher for new devices in the field of plastic surgery. Recently he was selected to participate in a national study investigating new Cohesive Gel Silicone breast implants. Sixty of his Austin patients are receiving these new implants as part of their breast augmentation surgery, and Dr. Gorman and his staff will track their progress over a ten-year period.

Dr. Gorman is one of the founding members of the Austin Smiles organization, which sends three medical groups a year to third-world countries to treat children with cleft lip and other birth abnormalities. He regularly goes on mission trips and has operated on hundreds of children around the world.

Your privacy and comfort is as important to us as it is to you. We know that your decision to have surgery is one often approached with hesitation. We believe the caring and attention we provide will allow you to more comfortably access the services you need to meet your individual cosmetic goals. Sometimes it can seem that the world of medicine, particularly surgery, is somehow different from your own. Nothing could be farther from the truth at our office. Our world is your world.

From the moment you walk through the doors, you will feel relaxed by the warm and inviting decor. Our design is intentionally unlike a typical plastic surgery practice. Every effort has been made to provide our patients with the most serene setting possible. Our patients find many small waiting rooms full of soft, comfortable chairs, which provides the extra privacy lost in most medical establishments. Everyone doesn’t have to just wait by the front door for an appointment. That’s certainly not privacy! Dark chocolate-colored woods, warm ochre walls, custom floral accents, and a fine art collection warm the senses and envelop our patients in comfort.

Through the adjoining reception area, our patients can access Austin Plastic Surgery Institute’s Skin Clinic, offering first-class aesthetic and dermatological care, preventive care, and aftercare. The therapists of APSI Skin Clinic work with Dr. Gorman on the latest sound, tested medical services in skin care for preventive and restorative cosmetic care. The proximity of these two stellar medical offerings allows our patients to easily access the latest innovations in medicine.

Dr. Gorman’s office location upstairs from Austin Surgical Hospital gives us the ability to meet and exceed our patients’ needs. This complete hospital was intentionally created on a smaller scale, and it has all of the customary hospital facilities and amenities in a uniquely intimate setting. Without the hustle and bustle of a trauma center or emergency room, Dr. Gorman can offer his patients the very best care with the same kind of personalized attention provided upstairs in the office.
