Recently, someone challenged me to name the 10 healthiest foods for personal health care. I found the query intriguing – there are literally thousands of foods from which to choose! After pondering this question, it occurred to me that most Americans get more than their fair share of meat and dairy products and therefore need no urging to include these foods in their diets. We all know that excessive amounts of fat, sugar and processed foods aren’t good for us. That narrows the field of candidates for inclusion in this list of the 10 healthiest foods we should be consuming. You’ve guessed it by now, right? While being ultra-rich in nutrients and cancer fighting antioxidants, produce is perhaps the most neglected item on our menus.

How To Stop Smoking Start From You

The first step in getting how to stop smoking is to study your own smoking habits. For a few days, write down every time you have a cigarette. What events or activities make you light up? How often do you smoke?

Once you have an idea of when and why you smoke, you can look for replacements for smoking. For example, smoking may relax you. If so, before quitting, learn and practice another way to relax, such as deep breathing and relaxation exercises.

If you think smoking gives you energy, try standing and stretching or taking a walk when you start to feel the urge to smoke. Exercise can make you more alert.

Perhaps you enjoy the feeling and rituals of holding the cigarette, lighting it, gesturing with it, and tapping off the ashes. To keep your hands busy without a cigarette, try a strand of beads, a polished stone, or a pen.

Before you quit, it’s also a good idea to plan rewards for sticking to your goal. For example, you might go to a movie to reward yourself for each week you don’t smoke. Or you might put your cigarette money into a jar and use it to buy books or CDs or clothes or save it for a trip.

What can you do now to avoid diabetes complications?

Many of us also not know how to avoid diabetes. First, get regular checkups. You may not know that you have a complication. But your health care practitioner can spot trouble long before symptoms appear. Finding problems early is the best way to keep complications from getting serious.

Keep your appointments with your health care practitioner — even if you are feeling fine. This includes your eye doctor and any other specialists you may need to see.

Also be aware of the warning signs of trouble:

*Vision problems (blurriness, spots).
*Tiredness or pale skin color.
*Overweight and Obesity (more than 20 pounds overweight).
*Numbness or tingling feelings in hands or feet.
*Repeated infections or slow healing of wounds.
*Chest pain.
*Vaginal itching.
*Constant headaches (This may be a symptom of high blood pressure.)

What Cause Cancer

Everyday we heard about cancer and do you what cause Cancer.  Actually Cancer arises from one single cell. The transformation from a normal cell into a tumour cell is a multistage process, typically a progression from a pre-cancerous lesion to malignant tumours. These changes are the result of the interaction between a person’s genetic factors and three categories of external agents, including:

*physical carcinogens, such as ultraviolet and ionizing radiation
*chemical carcinogens, such as asbestos, components of tobacco smoke, aflatoxin (a food contaminant) and arsenic (a drinking water contaminant)
*biological carcinogens, such as infections from certain viruses, bacteria or parasites.

Some examples of infections associated with certain cancers:

*Viruses: hepatitis B and liver cancer, Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) and cervical cancer, and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and Kaposi sarcoma.

*Parasites: schistosomiasis and bladder cancer.

Ageing is another fundamental factor for the development of cancer. The incidence of cancer rises dramatically with age, most likely due to a buildup of risks for specific cancers that increase with age. The overall risk accumulation is combined with the tendency for cellular repair mechanisms to be less effective as a person grows older.

You Must Know Overweight And Obesity Health Risks

Overweight and obesity are defined as abnormal or excessive fat accumulation that presents a risk to health. A crude population measure of obesity is the body mass index (BMI), a person’s weight (in kilograms) divided by the square of his or her height (in metres). A person with a BMI of 30 or more is generally considered obese. A person with a BMI equal to or more than 25 is considered overweight

The latest WHO projections indicate that at least one in three of the world’s adult population is overweight and almost one in 10 is obese. Additionally there are over 20 million children under age five who are overweight.

*Hypertension and stroke. Overweight young adults (aged 20-44 years) have 5.6 times higher incidence of hypertension than those with normal weight. Older obese individuals are at even greater risk.

*Diabetes. Especially among adult with abdominal obesity.

*Cancer. A number of studies have found a positive association between overweight and the incidence of cancer, particularly those cancers which are hormone-dependent such as cancer of the breast, cervix, uterus, ovaries and prostate.
