High Blood Pressure
What does it mean?
In layman term, having high blood pressure means the force of blood against your artery walls is too strong.High blood pressure or hypertension can occur in adults or children, but is more common among people age over 35. It is particularly prevalent among middle-aged and elderly people, obese people, heavy drinkers and women taking birth control pills, people with diabetes mellitus, gout or kidney disease. It may be hereditary too.
What can caused high blood pressure??
Medical science is unable to identify the exact causes of high blood pressure occurring. Several factors known to increase high blood pressure include:
*Obesity
*Heavy alcohol use
*Heavy and regular use of alcohol can increase blood pressure dramatically.
*Family history of high blood pressure
*High salt intake
*High sodium intake increases blood pressure in some people.
*Aging
*A sedentary lifestyle
*Low potassium intake
*Low calcium intake
