Solid reasons why nearly all crash diets will fail

A crash diet is interpreted by our bodies as a real menace for their existence.
The body thinks : “Hmmm, there is a drastic reduction in food!Let me see how can I cope with this threat” and it starts making various adjustments to alleviate the consequences .This is a procedure perfected through endless yearws of evolution.
But let’s see what happens exactly:
1. First of all we have a drastic reduction of the fat burning enzymes and a corresponding increase in the fat storing ones. This is pure defense and well expected.
The thyroid gland will also respond by reducing the production of thyroid hormones, thus slowing down the rate of the basal metabolism.
2. The reduction of metabolic rate will make weight loss a far more difficult case, obliging most of the dieters to reach an insurmountable plateau and most probably quit.
We need our metabolism intact for long term success!
3. It is a causality that we will experience loss of muscle mass.
First of all because lack of energy will discourage the necessary physical exercise for muscle preservation.
And secondly, since a high metabolic rate is seen as a threat, our body will try to dispose of as much metabolically active muscle mass as possible.
4. It is most probable that cravings and the unbearable hunger feelings may lead to an abrupt discontinuation of the diet.
The same is valid with the lack of energy and vitality necessary to respond to the every day obligations.
And if you add the usual frustration following the unavoidable weight loss plateaus then you have a nice recipe for disaster.
And what is the solution for safe and permanent fat loss?
The solution is a combination of systematic physical exercise with a mild caloric deficit.Ah,add some patience too!!
To your health!
