Eating For Life – Achieve A Healthy Lifestyle And Reduce The Risk Of Common Disease
The Eat For Life is a nutrition guide widely endorsed by the Nutrition Board’s guide with the hope of teaching people how to eat healthy and its other benefits.
Because of the number of manuals, guides, books and programs about proper eating, most people get confused about the definition of a healthy diet. To shed light on things, the Committee on Diet and Health, a part of the Food and Nutrition Board, reviewed researches about dietary habits that can reduce the risks of common diseases. The Committee on Diet and Health came up with Eating For Life, a new guide towards a healthy lifestyle.
Most dieters treat diet as something they can turn to whenever they become displeased with their weight. Moreover, when they reach their ideal weight they tend to drop the diet off, only to find that their weight is gaining after a couple of months.
More than a typical diet, Eating for Life is an eating plan meant to be observed for life. It is not just a short-term solution for losing weight, but also a long-term solution for a healthy lifestyle.
These are the Nine Main Guidelines of Eating for Life
- Reduce overall fat intake
- Eat Plenty of Fruits and Vegetables
- Eat meat in moderation
- Exercise regularly to burn calories
- Limit or eliminate alcohol from your lifestyle
- Limit the intake of Sodium
- Take food rich in Calcium
- Consumption of food supplements must not exceed the USRDA.
- Take enough fluoride for dental health
As you may have read, all of these guidelines are self-explanatory. To avoid certain diseases you have to keep watch on what you put into your body.
The logic is simple, reduce the consumption of the bad stuff, increase the consumption of the good stuff, and eat everything in moderation. Avoid overeating; you do not need extra calories that will get converted to fat.
Observe regular exercise, it does not need to be strenuous. All you need is to burn up the energy you acquired from what you eat.
