Male hair loss, also referred to as androgenic alopecia or male pattern baldness, is a very common problem that can commence at any age. It may start during adolescence or during youth but generally this problem becomes noticeable after 40 or 50 years. An NHS survey has found that more than 25% of men notice hair loss from 30 years of age. Hair loss is quite a sensitive issue among men and it can affect their self-confidence and appearance. There are several herbal and medicinal treatments available in the market none can guarantee success. We advise you to use Propecia, which is a prescription medication that is clinically proven to be capable of stopping the process of hair loss and making new growth possible.

How does it happen?

There may be different types of hair loss, but the most common variety is male pattern baldness. This terminology is self-explanatory as it suggests that this type of hair loss follows a particular pattern. In this process your hair would start thinning at the crown and the temples and finally both parts meet at the middle of your head. Commonly, in the final stage of male pattern baldness your hair takes the shape of a horseshoe. There may be several physical or psychological factors responsible for this problem. Reluctance to deal with this problem will leave these reasons undiagnosed and later on you may face several physical complications.

The causes of hair loss:

Genetic factors have a leading role to play in causing male pattern baldness. In such cases hair follicles cannot tolerate the reaction caused by DHT, or dihydrotestosterone, which is a byproduct of the hormone testosterone. DHT results in the shrinking of the hair follicles to such an extent that they become very small and fail to produce new hairs. The very common misconception is that your hair follicles are dead but generally they are alive but incapable of serving their purpose. Other factors that can lead to the shrinking of your hair follicles are hormonal problems, serious and terminal diseases, nervous disorder, liver problems and an increase of toxic substances in your blood.

How can you treat hair loss?

There are three known ways to cure the problem of hair loss, namely application of over-the-counter products, surgery and scientifically approved medication (such as Propecia). Though application of over-the-counter products is very popular and fairly cheap, there is no guarantee of success. Surgery is preferred by some men, but it is very expensive and invasive. In this method the rate of your hair loss can be reduced but regrowth of hair may not be confirmed. Compared to these methods, treatment with Propecia is safer and very effective. From 1997 onwards, this medication has saved almost 90% of its users from further hair loss and more than two-thirds of them experienced further hair growth. This medication saves you from facing the uncertainty of over-the-counter products or surgery. You may have to wait almost for six months to see the results. Afterwards, you will find that Propecia has stopped hair loss completely and you may also experience hair regrowth after nine months.
