What’s the difference between darkening and lightening. It’s okay to purposely darken your skin but not to lighten it? That’s bull. Personally I’d like a somewhat lighter complexion. Does that make me a traitor? No, and it’s not like I want to be white, just not as dark as I am. The model there has a nice color…

Nice comment!

Heh, thank you. Hearing that whole dissing on lightening irritates me…

Karumi, Black skin of all shades are evenly beautiful. Read my previous comment again and highlight the part were I branded you a traitor.
You can put a spin on your preference as much as you want, the absolute truth is that bleaching is an insecurity complex.
In this context likeminded Blacks with this perspective suffer from the complex.
This has nothing to do with dissing, its about facing reality.

The truth hurts, that’s the reality. Skin bleaching is gross

I won’t apologise for my stance on this issue and i never will. Take me off from this forum and I couldn’t care less

Isn’t that like a double standard. Trying to change your skin tone is gross unless it’s to a darker shade? Is it the chemicals? If so, I’m sorry that you can’t sit out in the moonlight to look paler.
I fail to see the problem here. The way I see it, is if you’re not happy with yourself, change it. As long as it’s not killing you or immoral why not? If it’s your one and only body, you should be able to paint it to suit you. Why not have a lighter canvas.

U’ve taken my first comment out of context to justify ur self hate. If ur mind is right, u’ll see the self love I project from it
If u read my second comment properly, I made it clear that all shades of Black are evenly beautiful. If ur naturally dark keep it that way, likewise if your light.
If you fight against your natural complexion, you fight against yourself.
Unlike u, my natural complexion is well suited for me, it needs no re painting.
Take my advice, love thyself

I know u don’t like the truth that’s why u were the first to respond to my mail.
U can bleach for as long as u want, that’s ur perogative, its your life. Personally its revolting, self inflicting or damaging

I understand everyones concerns, but the video isn’t about bleaching at all!!!! I am brown, as in caramel brown, and because of the sun and whatever, there are dark spots that make up can’t remove, this method is just to even out your skin colour, its not making you lighter than you already are, so just relax
its not pretty having 2 shades of black, especially when it comes to wearing makeup, because now you have to get different shades makeup to cover your multicoloured face so take it from me

Love your chocolate skin ppl

people i dont think changing the color of yer skin is going to improve insecurity,be happy with what skin ye do have
July 3rd, 2009 at 11:43 am
Lol! No thanks.

Thanks to whoever put this video in here. I’ve been looking at the various videos that talk about skin lightening. They make it sound like they are going to tell you what products to use and show you how light you can get. Well one showed the dangers while two others talked about how you didn’t love yourself. I’m ok with others opinions but when you say you’re going to show something and it turns out to be a ploy then that’s sickening. Skin bleaching and tanning are choices.

I ran out of room sorry. I personally would suggest getting stage makeup and that way you can alter your look without chemicals or lemons on your face.I’m lazy so I’ll wear short sleaves to get a tan and put up my umbrella to block the sun lol. Well thanks again for the video.

funny how people react differently to a simple advice as to removing skin damage and skin discoloration (SUN SPOTS isnt that what she said?). its not like shes giving an advice on how to change your skin from black to white lol
(her advice was not just meant for people who have black or brown skins but all skin colors and skintypes who have age spots brown spots sun spots) dont be too sensitive and dont over react lol dont blame the innocent lemons haha

July 7th, 2009 at 4:05 am
Lol I know! People just need to be happy with what skin color they have! :]
July 7th, 2009 at 7:12 pm
when i see people write things like
“be who you are”
“be happy with the skin god gave you”
etc etc. i find it a little irritating because there’s skin TANNING, and thats acceptable, but when it comes to skin lightening, its a bad thing? Hmm, skin darkening & skin lightening.. is there really much of a difference? Idk, maybe i don’t know enough on the subject? whatever. i like my skin. so yay.

its not all about skin color.. its about clear skin… having clear skin is about having skin without blemishes, without acne and and pimple marks, liver spots and everything.. ” some people might say. “” why don’t you just love your own color”" well that’s paradoxical.. loving your color means taking care of it and freeing it of any blemishes and damages.. and to achieve that sometimes we used remedies like the one on the video.. some people are naturally naive about skin care.. and it sucks.
