Pulling out eyelashes seen in all age groups
Whilst talking in a general conversation one can never think that the topic such as pulling out the eyelashes will ever be talked about. Nevertheless, this is the anxiety disorder’s symptom. Such pulling out hair disease in science is called as trichotillomania. Urge to pull the hair out could occur at anytime and the person begins to pull the hair out from wherever this grows. It’s noted that most usual part for pulling out the hair is from the scalp. Nevertheless, in most of the cases, one could notice that the patients’ pull out the hair from eyebrows, axilla, eyelashes, arm pits, pubic, perirectal regions, face and many more.
The most awful trichotillomania’s consequence is alopecia. It is the condition where a person face excessive loss of hair because of pulling out the hair and this may lead to baldness. In addition to this, many of the patients try to eat their hair after they pull it out. Such condition is termed as trichophagia. This could moreover lead to the bezoar formation, and this in turn is followed by abdominal pain, vomiting, perforation, obstructive jaundice, , nausea, bowel obstruction and pancreatitis. Therefore, one must precisely take a hint the moment he looks at a person who is pulling the hair out from his scalp or pulling it out from his eyelashes. Apart from these, there’re many other symptoms such as pulling the other’s hair out, high levels of anxiety and stress, gastrointestinal complaints, avoiding social situations and many others.
Physicians believe that a person suffers from a higher level of tension before he or she starts pulling the eyelashes or hair from any other part. But when a patient pulls out the hair he feels relaxed or say, stress free. Such disorder which leads to pulling of the eyelashes is seen in both kids as well as adults.
