Five types of baby skin care products which are commonly used are soap, bubble baths, shampoos, lotions and oils and baby powder. During shower time mild soap can be used to the clean the infant’s soft skin. For this purpose soaps which contains coconut, palm or olive oil and also calendula which is an herbal extract can be used. Antibacterial soaps should never be used. The second baby product is the bubble bath. Most of the bubble bath products contain detergents which causes harm to the useful bacteria that are beneficial for the infants. So it is advisable to avoid bubble baths. In place of bubble bath people can use lavender oil to scent the baby’s bath.

The third baby skin care product is baby shampoos. For infants gentle shampoo is best for their delicate hair. An ideal baby shampoo should have mild preservatives like phenoxyethanol, vitamins A, C, and E, and also citrus seed extract. The fourth product is baby lotions and oils. These oils should be free from mineral oils. A perfect baby lotion or oil should contain chamomile, aloe, marigold, calendula and arnica and should not have any artificial colors or preservatives. The fifth product is baby powders. Powders containing talc and those are scented should be strictly avoided. An ideal baby powder should consist of bentonite clay or cornstarch.

What are Shedding Skin Cells?

Another term used for shedding skin cells is exfoliation of the skin. This personal care regime was invented way back during the time of Egyptian beauty Cleopatra. The properties of fruit alpha hydroxy acids and lactic acid obtained from milk are the most valuable ingredients for shredding skin cells and giving a young look. The Cell Renewal Factor or the CRF is a normal process which slows down with old age.

The human CRF is subjective to different factors like way of life, surroundings, medical history, hygiene and inheritance. Excess dead cells of the human body tend to accumulate on the corneum layer of the epidermis. Exfoliation helps to remove or peel off the horny external layer of the skin. Exfoliant is the element which helps to perform exfoliation.

Exfoliation can be defined as the superficial shedding, desquamation and keratolysis. Regular shedding of skin is necessary as surplus sebum block the skin pores causing the buildup of dead cells. Thus exfoliation is an important part of daily skincare as it helps the skin to breathe freely and look more youthful. Some examples of natural skin care products which can be used for exfoliation are Papain enzymes obtained from papaya juice and pancreatin made from beef by-products.
