Cystic Acne and Its Prevention and Treatment
A more severe acne type is cystic acne. It is also known as acne vulgaris and appears as a very ripe pimple which is ready to pop. Cystic acne has preventable and non-preventable causes. Non-preventable causes are caused by hormonal imbalances and by genetics. However, for those not experiencing non-preventable cystic acne, there is still hope in preventing the acne that breaks out when you least expect it to.

The worst thing to do to cystic acne is to keep touching it, or worse, squeezing it. By touching you pimples or acne, you transfer bacteria to it and squeezing it will make it more susceptible to infection and scarring. Another way to prevent cystic acne is to avoid certain cosmetics that are oil-based and skin products which are oily. By using greasy products on your skin, you will worsen acne by adding elements that aggravate the affected areas.
Some people think that by washing often, usually more than three times a day, will help in reducing acne. Unfortunately, this is not effective in preventing cystic acne. By washing your skin too much, you dry it out and may cause flaking on your skin. This may cause you to break out even more. And when you do your daily washing, make sure you use a soft cloth to dry your face. Avoid overusing facial scrubs, this may cause abrasion to your affected area and worsen your cystic acne.
You’ll be surprised to find that your lifestyle will also affect your cystic acne. By leading a stressful schedule and causing yourself unneeded worry and anxiety will cause you to break out in cystic acne. Another cause of the breakout of cystic acne is also a bad diet. Having a poor diet will not enhance your skin to be healthy and clear. Make sure your avoid sweets, have a balanced diet and exercise to keep unwanted stress away.
